The track & field program is offered to all student athletes and genders in 5th 8th grade, with focus on conditioning, core training, warmups, speed, distance, and 100% participation in meets. There are over (120) participants each year with (16) or more team coaches to organize, lead practices, and place the athletes in track meet events including sprints, distance, relays, and field. Practices are held 3 to 4 times a week for (1) to 1 hours. All athletes, all talents, and all levels are welcome. There is something for everyone!
St. Cletus is one of (23) schools in the Suburban Parochial League (SPL) located in the western suburbs. The league breaks down into (3) divisions with St. Cletus in the AA Division. There are (5) track & field meet competitions each spring held at local high school tracks culminating with the SPL Championship Meet with all (23) school athlete qualifiers in late May. JV meet participation (5th/6th grade) occurs in the morning while the Varsity meet participation (7th/8th) takes place in the afternoon. Ribbons are awarded at meets throughout the season while event champions are awarded medals at the Championship Meet.
