Hello First Grade Families!
What a week! A short week, yet filled with busy workers. With our snow day on Tuesday we decided to postpone our <ow> Spelling Test for next week. We are working hard in our Simple Solutions book each morning and strengthening our mathematical skills.
We had a lovely Ash Wednesday Prayer Service and received ashes in the Church. It was so nice to finally be able to enter Church!!
We are really working on staying safe and following our classroom rules. We want to continue to be in school and know how important it is to be safe. We talked about being safe at recess and while being in class with others.
In spelling we will be focusing on the <ow> pattern.
Coming up in Reading we will begin reading our next story, Goods and Services, and having greater discussions. We will have many vocabulary words that we are already familiar with, this will help create complex sentences.
In Math we will be continue Chapter 8 where we will be adding and subtracting two digit numbers, specifically focusing on the tens and ones place.
Social Studies we will be beginning Unit 4 where we will look into the land and water around us.
In Religion we will be discussing Lent. We will be sharing ways we can be kind and how simple this can be. We will continue looking to make greater connections with our faith these next few weeks.
*We are always in need of baby wipes and disinfecting wipes. We use about 200 disinfecting wipes and 125 baby wipes a week!*
Please continue to let me know if you have any questions/comments.
