Hello First Grade Families!
What a great week! We continued our discussion of Lent and brainstormed ways to be kind. We made pizza slices and wrote how ‘Kind Isn’t Cheesy’. We practiced our addition skills and showed how to add ones and tens. We viewed and listened to Stations of the Cross and discussed what Jesus went through.
We are really working on staying safe and following our classroom rules. We want to continue to be in school and know how important it is to be safe. We talked about being safe at recess and while being in class with others.
In spelling we will be focusing on the <ew> pattern.
Coming up in Reading we will be pausing our Goods and Services discussion and focusing on Read Across America Week! We will celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday and read his stories and discuss them. This is such an exciting week!
In Math we will be continue Chapter 8 where we will be adding and subtracting two digit numbers, specifically focusing on the tens and ones place.
Social Studies we will be continue and finish up Unit 4 where we will look into the land and water around us. We have shown our background knowledge and will be continue our comparisons of our vocabulary words.
In Religion we will continue discussing Lent. We will continue looking to make greater connections with our faith these next few weeks. We will begin our Washing of the Feet practice which represents the Last Supper.
*We are always in need of baby wipes and disinfecting wipes. We use about 200 disinfecting wipes and 125 baby wipes a week!*
Please continue to let me know if you have any questions/comments.
