The sixth grade students have been extremely busy this week! In math, we identified integers and their opposites on a number line. We are reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe in English and Language Arts. So far, I’ve been very impressed with their ability to analyze the text. The class was quick to identify main ideas and important literary devices that were used by C.S. Lewis in each chapter. In Religion we have written about and discussed the themes of good and evil in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and are learning about parables. The students learned about timelines and early human history in Social Studies. The class has discussed what you need to do to be successful and survive as a culture and will learn about early Mesopotamian cultures in the coming weeks.
