JK Newsletter January 9, 2025

Happy New Year! Winter has arrive and we have lots of fun ahead of us in 2025!
It was so good to be back and see all of your children! WOW, they have grown! They had so much to share!

We have started the new year off reviewing our classroom rules, and getting back to our classroom routine! The kids freshened up their pencil boxes and now have “thin” crayons and “thin pencils.  This is a huge step for them, but with Kindergarten around the corner, they are ready for it!

We had a great couple of days getting back to our friends, and routine.

Things to ask your children:

  • What letter “snowball” did you get?  Did everyone get a snowball?
  • What 2 things did Jimmy Carter really like? (peanuts and baseball)
  • Who was the line leader, caboose, flag holder and prayer leader this week?

Religion: We prayed and had a moment of silence for Jimmy Carter yesterday.  Weekly mass starts up again on Tuesday at 8am.

Literacy:  We will be reviewing the the letters “s” and “a” in Jolly Phonics and working on handwriting and proper letter formation on these letters as well.

Math: We have lots of snowman counting, winter games, patterns and graphing activities at center time.

Social Studies and Science: We will be making predications with the weather and lots of hands on winter fun!

Stay safe and warm, and enjoy the snow this weekend!
