JK Newsletter October 18, 2024

Fall has arrived! We are enjoying the cooler weather and the many signs of the Fall season.

Now that we have been in school for many weeks now, we hope that you are starting to see some independence from your children at home. Have you noticed your child being more helpful around the house? Maybe emptying their own backpack/lunchbox/or showing you what’s in their folders. In JK we have the try 3x’s rule before asking for help.  WOW, they are SO proud when they discover they can do it by themselves. Now that coat season is here, pulling the arms out of the coat, and zipping up your coat is our new game. Please practice with your children and give them some fun and easy jobs to build their confidence.

Talking points for your child:

  • Are you a “Helper kind and Good “in the classroom?
  • Can you sing the 5 little pumpkins song?
  • which center do you like more, blocks, or kitchen?

Religion: Being a helper and showing God’s love is always our focus in JK! Next week we will be talking about community helpers and how they show their love to us.

Literacy: Our Jolly phonics this week will be the letter “e”. Phonemic awareness is something we do everyday together.  Ask your child what letter sound they hear at the beginning of the word “book” ?

Math: Lots of fun Halloween number games and patterns.

Have a great weekend!
