Fall is here and we are ready for it! We had a apple-rific week, and lots more apple fun to come next week too!
Things to ask your children:
- Which apple did you like the best green apple (tart), or the Red apple (sweet) ?
- What is your favorite thing to play on on the playground? The firepole, pebble box, or the slides?
- Ask your child if they put a “warm and fuzzy” in the classroom bucket of kindness?
Literacy: In JK we only focus on the 26 letter sounds in the Jolly Phonics program. Blending sounds happens in Kindergarten. Next week we will be learning the “N” sound. Ask your kids for the motions and letter sounds for “s,a,t,i,p,” .
Religion: This week we will be talking about the Feast day of the Archangels. We will be going to church at 8 am on Tuesday.
Science: All things fall and apples. We will be doing lots of hands on activities this week to get all of the senses going.
Social Emotional: Learning how to treat others, and be a kind friend to all is a big part of our program. We are really working on manners and helping the children become more self sufficient. Please help reinforce this with your children at home. Every morning in our classroom they put their own lunch, snack and water bottle in a special spot in the room. We also have a 3 try’s rule withopening their snack, They are SOOOO proud when they are able to do it themselves.
