Another great week in JK! Lots of learning inside, and we even snuck in outside fun between the rainy days too!
Play is a huge part of development at the JK age. We incorporate play into our day through centers, using the playground, free choice and recess! The life skills of negotiating games and playing well with others are things we all want our children to understand! They also grow in confidence with this skill. This week we had 2 friends go down the fire pole for the first time… they were so proud!!
Mark your calendars, and tell the Grandparents… The JK, Preschool 3 , and DLI Preschool 4 Christmas program, is December 18th, at 9:30am! Invite will be coming home today with your children in their folder!
Religion: We will continue to talk about God’s blessings and what we are Grateful for. The kids have been sharing with us each day. Your kids have big hearts, you are all so very Blessed!
Literacy: Reading to your children is one of the best indicators of future reading success. We read books daily in the classroom and hope you are doing the same at home as well. We will be learning the letter /m/ next week in Jolly phonics. So far they have learned the following letters and motions: s,a,t,i,p,n.c.k.e.h. and r. They are so good at making the motions and sounds for these letters, just ask them;)
Math: We have been playing dice games, patterns and sorting this week with lots of fall manipulatives!
Social Studies: We will be discussing the pilgrims, and Native Americans and how thanksgiving came about.
