Religion:
- We wrapped up our religion unit on bible stories that teach us about “Jesus doing good,” by reading some of His parables as well as stories about some of His miracles.
- This past Friday, we prayed the Stations of the Cross for the second time, but this time in church. The kids did great! They are very interested in the story and yes, they agree it IS a sad story, but they also know that we will always focus on two important things: 1.) Jesus FORGAVE all of the mean people in the story, and is yet another way he taught us about kindness and forgiveness. 2.) Jesus does not want us to be sad, that’s why He gives us Easter! He wants us to rejoice, be happy and spread the good news!
- We will continue our Lenten journey together focusing on prayer and almsgiving. We are working so hard to become more beautiful on the INSIDE, the part that really matters. We are praying more by adding the OUR FATHER to our morning prayer each day and we are also praying the Stations of the Cross each week. Our almsgiving efforts are also going strong with A LOT of peanut butter and jelly collected as well as some coins in our rice bowl. Thank you for encouraging your child to do these things during Lent! We dropped off the PB & J at church when we prayed the stations and that’s when the kids came up with their next collection idea: Mac and cheese/pasta! Please bring these in any day next week! And as always, if it’s more important for these foods to be at your home, no worries!
