What’s New in Language Arts? 5/11

6th Grade

This previous week, students began their study of unit 12 vocab words. They also became immersed in their oral history projects, researching their chosen topics, brainstorming interview questions, and interviewing their chosen person. As we move into next week, sixth graders will plan their oral history articles with the help of a graphic organizer and begin drafting. Next week will conclude with a unit 12 vocab test on Friday from 12 to 12:30. The link to the test will only be active during this time. If a student is unable to complete the test during this time, please let me know so that we can reschedule.

If a student has a difficult time finding someone to interview, please let me know and I can provide alternative resources to help them complete the assignment.

*Students may still earn points for late work. However, I ask that any student submitting work after the deadline, email me to notify me of their submission, so that I know to check their work and update their grade.

Moving into next week, students should complete the rough draft of their initial argument by the end of the day on Tuesday. Students will then revise, submitting their final arguments by the end of the day on Friday. We will conclude the week with a vocab test on unit 12 from 12 to 12:30 on Friday.  The link to the test will only be active during this time.
