Please remember that our classroom windows are kept open during this time.  Please send a St. Cletus sweatshirt or sweater each day so that your child does not need to wear their bulky winter coats during class.

Friday, December 18th:  TLC   Remember DECEMBER Prayer is due on FLIPGRID today.

Religion:  This Monday the St. Cletus students and staff will be taking an ADVENT PRAYER WALK around the campus and stopping at each statue to say a prayer.  After the walk the we will be contributing our canned donations to the food pantry here at St. Cletus.  Please send in can food items this Monday with you child.  We will also be creating our parents Christmas Gifts this week.  December Prayer is Due on FlipGrid Friday, December 18th.  FlipGrid is NOW available.  It is important to be ON TIME with projects.  If you need a copy of the prayer PLEASE let me know. 

Reading:  The students will be reading several different Christmas passages and then answering questions centered around the stories.  They will be doing these to enhance their comprehension skills.  Remember that the December Book Reports are due on 

Spelling:  Our spelling words this week have a Christmas theme running through them.  The words are:  During the course of the week the students will be creating memory games, word searches, and practicing their printing skills.  The words are also listed on the Spelling City Website for easy access.  Spelling tests will be on Friday, Dec 18th.

Phonics:  This the students will continue to work with contractions, plurals, suffixes and endings.  We will also review Grammar skills as we complete the next four lesson (61 – 65) in Grammar Simple Solutions.  Grammar SS quiz will be on Friday, December 18.

Math:  The students will be working with a multiplication table to solve problems.  A copy of a multiplication table is among the first pages in the red assignment note book that your child brings home each night.  The class will see how easy it is to multiply with doubles as they learn to multiply by 8. (Ex: 8 x 6 = ( 4 x 6 ) + ( 4 x 6 ) ).  I will post the HELP videos from our GoMath Curriculum on the STREAM page in GOOGLE CLASSROOM.    Students should continue doing the next 4 lessons 61 – 64 in their MATH SIMPLE SOLUTIONS books.   Math SS Quiz will bo on Friday, December 18.

Social Studies:  Students will be reading about different cultures Christmas traditions this week.

My name is Lisa Gearen. I started teaching at St. Cletus in 2003. I taught first grade for 14 years and now teach 3rd. I have a bachelors degree in Communication and a Masters in Elementary Education. I received both degrees from Concordia University.
