Preschool Newsletter – December 7, 2018

    • Reminder this is an early dismissal day for full-day Preschool students. Following the performance we will have light refreshments in the Parish center and then the children are free to be dismissed. This is such an exciting event for our Preschool program and the children have been busy practicing their songs!

This week in Preschool we learned about the letter “K” and our theme was Snowmen. Some of our letter “K” words included: kite, key, ketchup, kangaroo, king, karate, kiwi, kitten, and kick. Throughout the week we read various snowman books and some of our favorites included: Sneezy the Snowman, Snowman at Night, and The Biggest Snowman Ever. We also started our whole class advent wreath.

Centers this week included:

  • Advent wreath activity
  • Religion – “Jesus is Coming!”
  • K is for King, Karate, Kite craft
  • Sneezy the snowman craft
  • If I were a snowman at night craft
  • Snowman stack and cover
  • Winter pattern blocks
  • Feed the snowman game
  • Roll & cover snowman math game
  • Snowman mobile
  • Handwriting journals

Next week we will start our unit on Reindeer and focus on the letter “L.” We will be making various reindeer art projects as well as reading different books focusing on reindeer. The children will be practicing writing the letter “L” and learning what sound it makes. Be sure to check out our hallway for our art projects!
