We’ve begun to look at what Mass is. In our preparation for First Holy Communion, we will look quite closely at each step of the Mass, in order. Right now, we talked about how Jesus gave us everlasting life. We also talked about the Last Supper, and its importance. We will continue to talk about the Last Supper, as it pertains to the Mass. The class discussed how it is both a meal and a sacrifice. We talked about gifts we have and how to show God that we are thankful for all He has given us.
In Grammar, they have moved on to classifying propositions, object of the prepositions, and prepositional phrases. It’s going pretty well considering it is brand new. We’ve finished our story “Marching with Aunt Susan.” Our next story is about real kids who have made a difference in the world. In Phonics, we are continuing with contractions. Cursive is getting there, which is expected. Some just need to remember to slow down and watch the slant.
Three-digit addends is our current topic in math. We have learned that the steps don’t really change. In about the middle of the chapter, we will switch gears to subtracting two 3-digit numbers. Are you practicing basic math facts? Knowing them really will help your child.
We’ve taken our Science Unit 4 test last week and have gone back to Social Studies, where we begin by looking at goods and services.
