In Religion, we continue to learn more about the Sacrament of Reconciliation, as we prepare for their first one. They are very excited, as their special day approaches quickly. Next week, we will focus on Advent and Christmas.
In Language Arts, we continue to classify sentences with the various parts of speech. In Phonics, we’ve moved onto consonant digraphs. We’ll continue to look at those next week. We have finished reading “Theodore Roosevelt: The Adventurous President” and have practiced summarizing the chapters and discovering what a timeline is. Next week, we will be working on text features, which was used heavily in our story about President Roosevelt.
We’ve begun chapter 5 of Math. We’ve been breaking apart to subtract. Next week has us writing the problems vertically and subtracting with and without regrouping. We’ll finish this chapter before Christmas break and start the next chapter upon our return.
We finished Unit 2 of Social Studies. Next week, we will move back to Science, where we will look closely at plants.
