We have finished our first look at the Liturgy of the Word. Next we will move on to the Liturgy of the Eucharist. We will go back and review both parts after our in depth look at Liturgy of the Eucharist. However, next week will strictly focus on reviewing and preparing for First Reconciliation, as their big day is on Saturday, March 13.

We read a short story in Reading this week, “Seek the Sun.” The class enjoyed this story, while we uncovered cause and effect relationships. We also compared our main characters and sequenced the events of the story. We’ve continued writing 2 more poems, a Sensory Poem and Friendship Cinquain. In Phonics, we practiced writing contractions and adding endings to words in order to be better prepared for the Phonics test next week. There will NOT be a spelling test next week. Next week in Grammar, we will continue to classify sentences, but we will also begin to look at topics/details.

The class took the Chapter 7 Math test today on money and time. On Monday, we will begin with measurement. MANY do not have a ruler. Please be sure to send in a ruler that has both standard and metric units on Monday.

We’ve taken our environment test in Science and will transition back into Social Studies for a unit. The unit is on government at all levels (local, state, and federal.) I am looking forward to sharing one of my favorite memories as a child, Schoolhouse Rock “I’m Just a Bill.”
