Advent is upon us. What a special time of year it is to make our crooked ways straight and our rough ways smooth. Students are being given several opportunities to perform acts of Christian service throughout the parish. Hopefully, many will use this time to help prepare for the coming of Our Savior.
In preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, the 8th Graders are completing their Saint Essays. This is an opportunity for students to learn more about the saint that they have chosen as the Confirmation Saint. In addition to that, students reflect upon how they will use their saint as a model for living life as a Catholic.
Seventh graders have been spending time examining the Gospels. We have been taking a close look at how the three synoptic Gospels are similar, yet also different.
We have been learning about time of the patriarchs in the Old Testament. Emphasis has been placed on the stories of Abraham, Issac, Jacob, and Joseph. The overall message of these Old Testament readings is that God uses all kinds of people as instruments in the salvation story.
Sixth grade also has a very exciting STEM/Christmas themed field trip that is coming up!
