First Grade Hard at Work!

Hi there my wonderful first-grade families! 🙂

Math: Our morning work has been working through our Simple Solutions workbooks. We have been working hard throughout our module workbooks, and have been learning more and more about math. We have completed Module 10 and will work through Module 11 this upcoming week!

****Please ensure your child is doing their homework each day as it has been more practice for what we have been working on, and it has been helping them with their OWN learning!

Wilson: We have been hard at work with our Wilson program. We are almost done with Unit 8! We have been talking about consonant blends and digraph blends! We have been building on that knowledge and learning about our base words and then how we can make them plural!  We have been building our knowledge about nouns and verbs. 🙂 We also have been talking about past, present, and future tenses.

Spelling: We will be having a spelling test this coming week Friday.

Lists have been sent out. The new list are these words:

Test, Drill, Puffs, Lunch, Plugs

Sentences:

  1. Did you see his gold clubs?
  2. Each block was on the last bench.

Social Studies: This week, we focused on what happens first. The steps of first, next/then, and last. Being able to make sense of steps either through a picture or without one!

Religion: We have been hard at work learning about how we can be a follower of God and Jesus Christ. Which works out because we have been hard at work practicing for the prayer service of The Washing of the Feet!

**We are in charge of the Prayer Service of Washing of the Feet. Please ensure that if your child has a speaking part that they are practicing and getting more comfortable with their speaking parts. Every single child is included in this Prayer Service. Remainder it is on April 2nd in the Church at 9:30 Am. Your Child MUST be here unless you have already spoken to me.

Reading: We have working together with our small group reading our supplemental reading books along with our decodables. We then begin discussing what has been happened in the stories, and building on our knowledge. We do this at the same time with our resource officer, Mrs. Sigel. Also, we have been able to connect what we have learned about in the books back to what we have been learning about Wilson! 🙂

We have been working EXTREMELY hard with our comprehension (remembering what is going on/happening throughout the story!)

**Remember to keep filling out those reading logs! 🙂 They are due each Monday unless we do not have school so in that case, they would be due on Tuesdays! Thank you!!!!!! 🙂
