Full Day Preschool January 14, 2021

Looking Back…
*This past week was all about the weather and our new season.  We made name snowmen with our 6th grade Buddies, read lots of stories about the season and created snow paintings.  We were even able to get out for one winter walk!  This was our first time outdoors together in 2022.
*We learned about our sense of touch in Religion.  This is our third sense we have learned about.  God gave us five wonderful senses and next week will be all about the sense of smell.
*Just as we finished the first half of the year, we also finished the first half of the alphabet.  Letter “Nn” was our focus in Jolly Phonics and we created some silly noses, too.
*Four birthdays were celebrated this week.  We began with Michael and followed with three more birthdays on the very same day.  Evan, Emme and Miles celebrated together.  Thanks to all the families for the yummy treats and goody bags!
*Our Cool Cat of the Week did an awesome job.  We loved her bag full of show and tell things and she brought one of our favorite books, Pinkalicious!

Supplemental Supplies were due upon our return from Christmas break if your last name begins with N-Z.  If you haven’t done so, please send them in as soon as possible.  Thanks to all who have sent them.  We are working hard to continuously clean to keep away all the germs.   Also, please remember to send a box of large crayons.  Thanks so much for your generosity and support!
We try to get outside as much as possible.  Please continue to dress for the weather.  If we are unable to get outside, we have been fortunate to play in the Gym in the Parish Center.
Last, please make sure your child has extra masks in their backpack.

Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About…
*Count to 30.
*Talk about the three senses we learned.
*What happens in winter?  What is your favorite season and why?
*Write your name and say the letters.

THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR IS HERE:)
Friday marks the beginning of the second half of the school year.  We are at the top of the hill and heading down.  There has been so much growth in the first half and we are excited to begin our second semester journey.  Our classroom schedule will change a bit and we will be working with new materials.  Our fine motor skills have come a long way and we will begin to practice writing letters, numbers, names and maybe even some words with our pencils.  I can’t wait to see what the next 90 days hold in store for all the kiddos in Room 99!!!
