Happy 2022! It was great to see everyone back this week! I hope everyone had a chance to relax and recover from the festivities of the Season!
This week in 5th Grade:
Social Studies: We wrapped up our pre-colonial unit. On Monday we will begin Unit 3 specifically about Colonial Life in North America and the French/Indian War.
Science: This week we discussed Adaptations of plants and animals. We learned that in order to survive the ever changing environment, organisms must adapt or they will be unable to survive.
Reading: We discussed terms of poetry and figurative language. In the next few weeks, we will be learning about different types of poetry, and writing some of our own!
Religion: January 5th is the Feast Day for St. John Neumann. This week we started reading a book about his life – Saint John Neumann, Missionary to Immigrants. We will be discussing this influential Saint, and what we can learn from his memorable life on Earth.
Next Week: On Monday and Wednesday (and Thursday – if needed), we will be taking our 2nd iReady Diagnostic Test of the Year! Please make sure your student is well rested and eats a balanced breakfast. This will help them reach their fullest potential!
