10/21: News from Fifth

Hello 5th Grade Parents & Families!

The Fall colors are really starting to show, and the chill of Winter is drawing near. Please make sure your student is dressed appropriately for school. Starting November 1st, no shorts can be worn as per the dress code.

Language Arts: We are continuing our lessons on prepositions and prepositional phrases. We are also working on our expository paragraphs about 3 things we enjoy to do, eat, play, etc.

Science: We have wrapped up the lesson on cells/traits and will start talking about organ systems next week.

Reading: We are continuing in our novel study of The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. The students are working on making specific annotations to help with our class discussions. They have been doing such a wonderful job at diving deep into the text!

Math: We are half-way through Chapter 2 and will continue working on division of 2 digit divisors. Keep studying those multiplication facts!

Religion: Our focus has been on the Sacrament of the Eucharist, which will finish up the 3 Sacraments of Christian Initiation. The next Sacrament we will study is the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation.

NEXT WEEK is Red Ribbon Week! Check out the School Calendar to find out the fun activities we will be doing each day!

Enjoy the weather this weekend, it could be the last for awhile! – Mrs. Witkowski & Mrs. Wrodarczyk
