Full Day Preschool-May 13, 2022

Looking Back…
*Letter review was our focus this week!  We played a lot of alphabet games in our centers, read lots of silly books and sang almost all 26 Jolly Phonics songs.  I am amazed by how many Preschool kiddos know their entire alphabet.  We will be focusing on rhyming words and beginning sounds for the remainder of the year!
*Our buddies joined us in Church for the May Crowning Mass.  In Religion, we learned about Mary and the Holy Family.  We thanked God for flowers this week and all of the living things he has created.  On our walk, we looked for beautiful flowers everywhere…especially the ones right here at St. Cletus!
*Our new calendar pattern for May is caterpillars and watermelon-one week of caterpillars and one week of watermelon.  Of course we counted flowers in our Math centers and continued to write our numerals from 0-8.  Next week, 9 and 10, HERE WE COME!
*As we prepare for summer, we talked about all of the fun activities we would like to do.  Our beautiful summer sunshine collages are hanging in our room and will come home at the end of the year.  Maybe they will give you some awesome ideas of things your family can do this summer!
*We went on a scavenger hunt this week to look for living things and non-living things.  The kids took photos of both!  We were even able to take a photo of our principal, Mr. Porod, when we visited his office 🙂
*Chalk mosaics ended our week.  Our Buddies showed us how to create these and they are BEAUTIFUL!  It is going to be hard to say good-bye to these special friends 🙁

*Living things was our theme this week.  List some things that are living and some that are non-living.  What do living things need?  What living/non-living things did we find on our scavenger hunt?
*Describe the process of making a chalk mosaic.
*What crazy thing did Mrs. Mullen do to our name tags???
