03/24 Update

Greetings,

By this time next week, the eighth graders and I will have returned from our Springfield trip.  Students will have the opportunity to visit the State Capitol Building, Lincoln’s Home, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and Lincoln’s Tomb.  It’s a special feeling to walk in steps of quite possibly our nation’s greatest citizen.  Ultimately, I hope our students gain an understanding of how an individual can rise to historic heights regardless of what his or her background may be.

All levels have either just completed are in the process of completing a grammar unit on prepositions.  In Social Studies, Eighth Grade is getting ready to cover the Great Depression.  Seventh Grade recently completed the U.S. Constitution test and are preparing for the Illinois Constitution test.  Sixth Grade has been deeply involved in Women’s History Month content.

Please remember to check with your children regarding information that gets sent home on Wednesday.  Let’s all put our best effort forward to make sure that our spring auction is a success.

I hope that your Lenten journey has been meaningful, especially as we get closer and closer to Easter.

“Whatever you are, be a good one.” – Abraham Lincoln
