Greetings,
Sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve posted an update. Spring break came and went, and then I had a family matter to tend to for a few days. I appreciate everyone’s understanding.
Our Eighth Grade Springfield Trip was a success! In fact, Mrs. Schaefer received an e-mail from a woman from Trinity Lutheran in Burr Ridge who was visiting Springfield while we there. She commented how respectful our students were and how well they represented our school. I just hope it was us, and not some other St. Cletus School that I don’t know about. In addition to that, I have been very pleased with how the Eighth Graders have handled our reading of To Kill a Mockingbird. Historically, I cover this novel near the end of Eighth Grade year when students are at their highest level of maturity due to some of the content that exists in it. They have responded really well to reading this important story.
In other good news, every Seventh Grade student passed his/her US Constitution Test on the first try. We are in the process of preparing for the State of Illinois Constitution test. In Literature, we are covering mythology.
I look forward to watching our students’ performances in the spring musical this week!
