December 2021

Season’s Greetings,

Throughout Advent, lessons in both 7th & 8th grade Language Arts and Literature have been Christmas oriented.  Readings in Literature have included A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, “The Other Wise Man” by Henry Van Dyke, and a selection from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.  We are also using the classic holiday films A Christmas Story and Miracle on 34th Street as the subjects of persuasive essays in Language Arts.

I want to remind 8th grade families specifically that the letter to Fr. Elmer should be submitted to me this coming Monday 12/20.  Please follow the directions that are found in the red booklet about placing it in an envelope.  In addition to that, please consider joining us for our mass with the Kindergarteners on Wednesday 12/22 at 9:30 a.m.  We also have a 1:00 pm dismissal on that day.

Again, please be sure that students are following our dress code as it pertains to shoes and uniform sweatshirts.  Weather appropriate clothing should also be worn for when we go out to recess.

Lastly, I will not be in school for the partial week and full week following Christmas break due to my family’s much awaited birth of our baby.  I’m grateful to Mrs. Gorman who is going to be covering for me during this time.  Mrs. Gorman has been a major help to us in junior high over the past few years, and we are all very fortunate that she will be helping again.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2022!  “God bless us, everyone!”
