6th Grade New 2.8.24

What a great past few weeks we have had!  Catholic Schools week gave us many activities to keep us learning, while still having fun!

Our Unit on Rome has been interesting!  With such a fascinating time period, it is no wonder that swords ( pretend of course) were part of the props needed when students had to pair together for a game of charades and “Guess my God/Goddess” game!  The students were very creative!  We incorporated two from the Greek time period to get us thinking about our next unit.   We have been making connections through each of the time periods we have been studying.

Science has us looking at rocks and minerals!  The Earth’s has many wonders to consider when we look at how things have changed over time, and how things have stayed the same!   A special thanks to Jana Svec for coming in to do Science Lab work with us!   We are getting good at identifying elements and have even looked at the Period Table many times!

ELA focuses on grammar elements ( a review, but one we still need to focus on), our Literature books and vocabulary.   We will get into small book groups in the coming weeks again.

iReady winter diagnostic is in the books.   Please ask your child to log on at home and show you their progress.   Reinforce to the them the importance of focusing on this program.   We are diligent in our work!  I am proud of their efforts.

Math and Religion are areas that are following what they need to do!   Just a reminder that homework in Math is meant to be turned in on time.

We are an active group that enjoys playing outside during recess!  Please make sure your child has a warm coat or sweatshirt to wear.

We are busy!   We continue to focus on respect, responsibility and compassion every day!

It’s a GREAT Day to be a Cardinal!
