Preschool 3-December 1, 2023

This week we returned from our break relaxed and ready to prepare for the Christmas season.  Monday marked the beginning of our second trimester!  We began practicing our songs for the Christmas program and we already are doing a fantastic job singing our songs!  Our focus letter was “Ii” and Jolly Phonics introduced us to Inky the Mouse and her whiskers:)  Our learning line proudly displays our iguanas.  We began reading our gingerbread books and are excited to find out in which books the gingerbread escapes.  Stay tuned!  Our dry erase sleeves were introduced this week and we learned what it means to trace.  Shapes were our first tracing activity.  As the year progresses, we will continue to build our fine motor skills using these sleeves to practice letters, numbers and even our own names.  What an exciting day it was! We painted our holiday handprints and hung them in the hall.  Also, we began some “secret” Christmas projects to give to our families.  I know the Preschool families will be thrilled when they see what special gifts we’re creating.  We are sorry though, you’ll have to wait:)  We ended our week with our Buddies.  They helped us to create our very own Christmas Countdown Chains.  Each night after prayers are said, we should take off a link and jump into bed.  When only the star is left to shine, then we’ll know it’s Christmas time!

Reminders…
*Please remember to dress for the weather.  We continue to go out any day the weather cooperates.  This week, many of us were decked out in our hats and mittens!  If possible, please send your child with mittens instead of gloves, as many can not put on their own gloves.  Also, continue to practice putting on coats and zipping them up.  So much improvement has been seen in the past month with these skills.  Thanks for supporting us in building our independence.

Holiday Shop-This will take place Tuesday-Thursday…December 5-7.  Information was sent home this week explaining this event.  If you have any questions, please contact me.
