Our week in Preschool was full of many exciting firsts…our first letter, our first lockdown drill, our first new month, our first letter and our first birthday! Letter Aa was introduced and we made alligators in our first mini-center. As the month progresses, we will learn to work in our centers on math and literacy skills. Identifying numbers and shapes and counting in our morning circle has been lots of fun. We have now practiced fire, tornado and lockdown drills. The kids did a great job learning how to be safe in school. Our very own letters(the first letter of our name) were decorated and are hanging on our learning line, along with our Pete the Cat alphabet. Looking for our own letters around the classroom and school has been exciting! Decorating our family photos was the best part of our week. The kids were so excited to introduce their families to us. Photos will be displayed in our room on our “We Love Our Families” board the entire year. Thank you so much for sending these beautiful photos. It’s like all the families are with us each day just a glance away:)
Last, we celebrated our very first birthday. Thank you to Leo and his family for the yummy cupcakes…another first for all of us.
Next week we will begin our ECLIP program with Miss Sonia! We visited our ECLIP classroom and talked about the program together. We will continue with letter Aa and begin using our dry erase boards at centers. Our Buddies from 7th grade will visit and we will take a tour of the Church. Our week will end with our first Spirit Assembly. Who knows…maybe we will get to see the CARDINAL!!!
A Few Reminders…
*Please be sure to pack a napkin, along with your child’s snack each day. Thanks for separating the lunch and snack. We are almost at the point of completing our morning routine independently.
*Gym shoes should be worn each day. Please, no sandals or CROCS. This will be especially important when we are soon able to play in our new playground.
