This week..we extended our lesson on insects by observing caterpillars. Students created journals to log their observations. They are super excited to examine the caterpillars each day. We have been reading stories and watching videos about caterpillars. Some of the students eagerly shared their observations with their families. Thank you to Tim’s mom for sending in milkweed seeds. On Tuesday, some of the students attended a special assembly presented by Matt Wilhelm on anti-bullying. Mr. Wilhelm is a BMX Flatland rider and motivational speaker. Mr. Wilhelm performed tricks for the students on his BMX bike. Student Council is holding a fundraiser to support the Food Pantry. Preschool families are being asked to donate personal care items. Our goal is to remember those in need and fill a large brown shopping bag. (Please see the photo below.)
Looking forward..we will be anxiously observing the caterpillars as they form chrysalis, and hopefully reach adult stage before school is out. There is no school on Monday, May 29th. June 7th is Field Day, (more information to come), and it is also the last day of school.
