Preschool 3-Year-Old Full Day April 21, 2023

This Week…We spent the week getting back into our routines. With the nice weather, we were able to enjoy outdoor recess.  We learned about taking care of God’s Earth as we prepared for Earth Day.  In the classroom, we set up a new recycle container for food wrappers and turned off one of the lights when warranted to conserve energy.  Our literacy and math this week centered around activities related to Earth Day. We took surveys to find out which students walked, rode a bike, or rode in a car to get to school.  Throughout the week we looked for the recycle symbol on snack and lunch items. The students reminded me that I needed a reusable water bottle. Good job!  I used Google Earth to support this week’s lesson.  We zoomed all the way to St. Cletus’ main entrance.  One student asked how this worked. Our lesson turned to learning about satellites and making a satellite with Legos.  We also read stories about taking care of the Earth.  At the end of the week, during review, the students were instructed to draw a picture related to the Earth and taking care of the Earth.  I was so impressed with the students images as they represented all of the things we learned this week.  Be sure to ask your child about their drawing. Finally, two of our students found a Golden Ticket in their chocolate bars sold this week to support the Junior High’s production of Willy Wonka Jr.!

Looking forward…There is no school on Friday, the 28th, and Cardinal Palooza  is next Saturday, the 29th. Be sure to get your tickets!

God Bless,

Mrs. Davis
