This week…the theme for Catholic Schools Week was Walk Together In Faith & Love. It was a fun week for all. Thank you to all who sent in donations for the Food Pantry. On Thursday, we spent time with our 7th grade buddies making Valentine crafts and enjoying plenty of snacks. Friday was the Feast Day of St. Blaise. We all received a blessing and prayer from our Principal, Mr. Porod and our Asst. Principal, Mrs. Schaefer. We also enjoyed donuts on Friday as we celebrated a birthday. The students learned about the legend of Groundhog Day, and made predictions for graphing and counting. Some of the students were not happy that the groundhog, an animal that hibernates, had to be awaken to predict the weather. I loved how they were able to make the connection to our previous lesson about Winter Animals.
Looking forward…This week, we read a really interesting story about a boy that forgot to brush his teeth. The students enjoyed the story and were very curious about germs. We will talk about the importance of proper hand washing and conduct a simple experiment about germs.
