PBIS stands for POSITIVE BEHAVIOR IN SCHOOL. The three character traits that students will be expected to follow are BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE COMPASSIONATE. To get the students engaged in PBIS, staff members will be handing out red PBIS tickets to students that display respect, responsibility and compassion. These tickets will be placed in classroom tubs and will be a part of PBIS prize drawings over morning announcements or at our monthly PBIS assemblies. The assemblies will be a time to check in with students to see how they are doing with PBIS and will also be when administrators announce the “classrooms of the month”. Classrooms of the month are the homerooms that stand out as a whole in displaying the three cardinal values—respect, responsibility and compassion.
