6th Grade

6th grade uses Sadlier We Believe curriculum with Growing with God: Safe and Sacred (Loyola Press). From August–November, students explore God’s creation, covenant with the patriarchs, and the Exodus while learning about human dignity and respect. From December–February, they study Israel’s journey, kings, and prophets, alongside lessons on healthy relationships and boundaries, with Advent and Lent woven in. From March–May, the focus shifts to wisdom books, the prophets, and the fulfillment of God’s promise in Jesus, paired with safe and sacred choices about relationships, digital life, and morality. Seasonal prayer services, reflections, and projects support faith development throughout the year.

7th Grade

This 7th grade religion syllabus integrates Sadlier We Believe (focused on Jesus Christ and the Church) with Growing with God: Safe and Sacred (Loyola Press) in a trimester format. From August–November, students study God’s Revelation, the Trinity, and Christ’s mission, while reflecting on human dignity and respect. From December–February, they learn about the Church, the Communion of Saints, and the Sacraments of Initiation, alongside lessons on family, friendships, and healthy boundaries. From March–May, they explore the Sacraments of Healing and Service, Christian morality, and discipleship, paired with making safe and sacred choices in relationships and digital life. Seasonal prayer services, projects, and reflections deepen faith and connect learning to daily life.

8th Grade

This 8th grade religion syllabus combines Sadlier We Believe (focused on Church history, morality, and discipleship) with Chosen: Your Journey to Confirmation (Ascension) to prepare students for Confirmation. From August–November, students explore God’s Revelation, Scripture, the Trinity, and God’s saving plan, while beginning their Confirmation journey by reflecting on life’s purpose, happiness, and God’s call. From December–February, the focus shifts to Jesus’ mission, the Paschal Mystery, the Church, and the Sacraments of Initiation, paired with lessons on grace, Baptism, the Eucharist, and Reconciliation. From March–May, students study the work of the Holy Spirit, the marks of the Church, Christian morality, and prayer, while completing Confirmation preparation through lessons on the Holy Spirit’s role, their vocation, and discipleship. Prayer services, retreats, and liturgical celebrations are integrated throughout the year to deepen faith and readiness for Confirmation.
