Pre-K 3 Newsletter May 15

🌊🐠 Happy Friday Families, 🐠🌊

What an exciting week in Pre-K 3! Our theme this week was OCEAN ANIMALS! 🦈🐙

🐳 We read so many fun books and learned lots of new facts. One of our favorite discoveries was that a group of fish is called a school! 🐟🐟🐟

We created our very own Rainbow Fish with one special sparkly scale ✨ and practiced our memory and color matching skills with a fun shark memory game! 🦈🎨

We also began working on handwriting skills and learning the proper pencil grip! We practiced keeping our pointer finger and thumb pointing down while our “tall guy” (middle finger) rests on his side. ✏️

In art, we experimented with pastel crayons and dipped them in sugar water to help keep them from smearing—such a cool trick! 🎨🍭

We watched a diver at the Monterey Bay Aquarium feed fish in the Kelp Forest tank, it was a live video!

We also had a special visitor from Notre Dame come observe us during Spanish class, and we showed off just how much we know! 🇪🇸⭐

Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About…
Below are some suggestions to engage your child in a conversation about what they did at school!
    • What is a group of fish called?
    • How did we make our Rainbow Fish special?
    • Can you show me how to hold a pencil the “Pre-K 3 way”?

Have a wonderful weekend!
