Religion:  Students will learn about the Apostles who lead the Church while Jesus was with them.  We will also learn about the people in the Church who hold those positions today.

Reading:  The students will review the “Year of Miss Agnes” as they define unknown words and answer questions directly from the story in preparation for a quiz on the story at the end of the week.

Grammar and Phonics:  This week the students will work with these adjacent vowels, ai, ay, ea, ee, ie, oa, or, and ue.

Spelling:  Due to the short week the spelling words were given to the students on Friday March 18th.  The words are word, fur, early, circus, turn, skirt, earth, work, curl, learn, hurt, dirt, earn, shirt, and heard.  The spelling test will be Thursday March 24th.

Math:  We have come to the end of Chapter 6 in our Math Series.  We will be reviewing the concepts in class as well as for homework on Monday and Tuesday nights.  The Chapter 6 test will be on Wednesday March 23rd.  Please be sure that your child completes and returns the chapter review because it does count towards the grade.

Social Studies:  This week the students will complete their packet about St. Patrick and the Irish holiday.  The class will also meet immigrant writer Mary Antin and artist Emanual Gottlieb Leutze.
