6th Grade News- 1/10/2025

Hello 6th grade families!

We have had a great week back from break! I hope everyone had a nice relaxing break and happy 2025!  I certainly enjoyed hearing all the stories from the students!

Literature- We will be starting our small group reading circles.  The students will have the chance to decide with their group which book they would like to read.  They will be able to choose between 3 books.  They will meet once to have their group discussions, along with assignments and homework that needs to be completed BEFORE their meeting.  It is VERY important to make sure students are coming PREPARED to discuss their books.

Math-  We are having fun in math! Students are creating a city using different types of lines and angles.  They are working in groups and really are working hard.

Social Studies-  We have started diving into Ancient Egypt!  The students are very excited for this unit and we have so many activities planned!

ELA-  We are working on our sentence structures.  Students have been working hard finding fragments in writing.

I-Ready- We are still working hard on filling in our I-Ready tree!  We are so close to earning our reward.  We have been thinking of some reward ideas. Any student who receives an 80% or higher is able to sign the tree.

DON’T FORGET!  Our  i-Ready Winter Diagnostic begins next week. Please make sure your child comes to school well-rested and has breakfast.
