6th Grade news- 2/11/25

Happy Friday!

We have been having a blast in 6th grade.  During Catholic Schools Week, we met with our buddies and built pyramids, had popcorn and a movie, had fun at the red and white games, had popsicles, and all around had a great time.

Math-  We are moving on to VOLUME!  We have just started working with nets to help us visualize shapes and will be moving on to using the formula for volume.

Social Studies-  We are still learning all about Ancient Egypt.  This week students have been research the social structure of Ancient Egypt.  They will be tasked to create a “job posting” on a specific structure.

ELA-  We are continuing our work on our sentence structures.  This is our last week for our book club! Each group has a different book.  The students received a packet that they need to fill out along with their readings EACH WEEK.  This packet is due THIS THURSDAY 2/13. Thursday will be their last meeting.  They have done a great job meeting each week and discussing their books.

I-Ready- The students are continue to work hard on i-Ready!  We finished filling out our Christmas tree!  The students earned their reward!  We are now working on filling in a Shamrock!  Our goal is to fill the Shamrock by the end of March!
