Week of March 30th, 2026
Important Dates to Remember
- April 2nd – Washing of The Feet @9:30AM and 2PM dismissal
- April 3rd – Good Friday – No school
- April 4-12th – Easter break
ELA (English Language Arts)
Students are consistently working on analyzing parts of poetry. We are learning about what a stanza is, what a line is in poetry, we have a quiz on poetry elements this Friday.
Next, we are going to write our own poetry and learn how to write different types like limericks, and haiku’s etc.
Math

Religion
We are finishing up lesson 8. We have been exploring and continuing to explore:
- Lesson 9+10
- Determining different types of prayer blessings, praise, petition, intercession, thanksgiving, praise.
- We’ll also continue our Bible Study, reflecting on parables and stories to deepen our faith and understanding.(We are going to start Mark chapter 25.)
Reading
We have continued reading the novel Number The Stars by David Bruce. We will be reading and studying this novel for the next few weeks. Students have a reading packet that they will be working on throughout the week, keep in a lookout for that.
Next, after spring break we will be reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.
Weekly Reminder:
Miss Pretzie’s students now have a reading log! This reading log is to keep track of your child’s reading progress. It is turned in every week to earn five points for reading 20 minutes everyday!
Every Friday, students will take a quiz on their vocabulary words for that week. Quizzes can be corrected for half-credit recovery.
Science
We have just finished our ecosystem unit. We did our terrarium lab too. The students had so much fun with it. We will observe our terrariums next week and see what observations we can make after a week! Then they will go home.
After spring break we will be moving into our human body unit!
Social Studies We are still on the road to the revolutionary war.We have taken our chapter 8 test and have moved onto chapter 9.
We are currently practicing note taking and working on our note cards, we are also working on our summarizing skills.
Up next, we will be learning about the separate battles that took place during the Revolutionary time.
