Next, we are going to work on the performance piece of the readers theater with props, tone and voice!

Upcoming: our action packed performances!

Math

Head to Ms. Skinner’s page to see more about what your child is studying in math!

Religion

We have been preparing for our Illinois state religion assessment through the Arch. I have created a kahoot! A game where the kids are able to actively study using that tool as well as a study guide.

Upcoming: we will be taking our religion assessment on 5/5 -5/6.

Reading

We are about to finish our novel Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. We will be reading and studying a new novel for the next few weeks, Holes.

Students have a reading packet that they will be working on throughout the week, keep in a lookout for that. I will be collecting at the end of the unit for points.

Weekly Reminder:

Miss Pretzie’s students have a reading log! This reading log is to keep track of your child’s reading progress. It is turned in every week to earn five points for reading 20 minutes everyday!

Every Friday, students will take a quiz on their vocabulary words for that week. Quizzes can be corrected for half-credit recovery.

Science

We have just finished our human body unit. We talked about all the different parts of the body and all the systems that work together to make the body work healthy and move! We even made a robotic finger!

Up next, students can look forward to a quiz on the human body coming up next week (after religion testing).

Social Studies We have made our way into chapter 10 and now having chapter 10 ending in about a week!

We are currently practicing note taking and working on our note cards, we are also working on our summarizing skills. We have just finished learning about the government.
