Week of November 3rd, 2025
Important Dates to Remember:
- November 7th – No school
- November 14th – End of trimester 1
- November 25th – 11:30AM dismissal, NO AFTER CARE, parent teacher conferences 12:30-8PM
ELA (English Language Arts)
This week, we started to write our own persuasive essay on a topic chosen by your child.We also started reading a series of picture books and determining what the theme of the stories are. We also finished our phonics unit 2 double vowel digraphs “oo” “ai”
Up next: We will be starting our new writing unit on opinion writing. Learning about what elements go into an opinion writing piece.
Math

Religion
We’ve just finished our lesson 4 in our religion book. We will take a test on lesson 4 next week. We will be starting lesson 5.
Next week, we’ll begin exploring:
- Lesson 5
- The meaning on the “coming of the holy spirit”
- New life in Christ.
We’ll also continue our Bible Study, reflecting on parables and stories to deepen our faith and understanding.(Mathew chapters 10,11,12)
Reading
We have a new novel “The Phantom Tollbooth” by Norton Juster. We will be reading and studying this novel for the next few weeks. Students have a reading packet that they will be working on throughout the week, keep a lookout for that.
Weekly Reminder:
Every Friday, students will take a quiz on their vocabulary words for that week. Quizzes can be corrected for half-credit recovery.
Science
We’ve just wrapped up our unit of energy on earth and in space. Next week, we’re jumping into the sun and other stars.
We’ve got an exciting project planned for this next week that students are going to love — hands-on science is always a favorite!
Social Studies
We started our new chapter, chapter 3. We are moving quickly for chapter three. We did a project-based assessment of a comic strip about Christopher Columbus.
Up next we will be learning about the start of the 13 colonies and where the native people landed chapter 4and 5.
