Full Day 3/4 Preschool

What a busy week we have had and it was only 4 days long!  Last week we talked all about spiders and this week we are wrapping up our unit on bats.  We talked about the differences of spiders vs other insects and how spiders create a web.

We have now completed the first unit of Jolly Phonics and learned about the letters: SATIPN.  Not only did we work on identification and letter formation, but we really focused on the sounds that they make.  Before you know it the class will be putting the sounds together to make words!  Our letter N poem this week was:

Nat, Ned and Noah

A necklace fell in Nat, Ned and Noah’s nest.

They needed a net so they could get some much needed rest.

This week in math we have been working on what number comes next.  Example:  What number comes after 4?  What number would be next?

In our morning centers we have also started to work on AB patterns using shape erasers and other manipulatives that we have in the room.

PBIS Update!

We had our first all school PBIS assembly this past Wednesday!  Even though our class did not win, we all had a great time cheering for the other classes.  Grade level winners were even lucky enough to win a plush cardinal!  We have been on our best behavior in the classroom and hallway since trying to earn a ticket to be entered into the next raffle!

Looking Ahead:

October 17th: D4D  at Chipotle 5801 S LaGrange Rd, Countryside

A few reminders:

  • We do go outside each day!  Please make sure that your child is dressed for the weather.
  • Please work with your child on being independent with putting their own coat on and practice zipping.  This helps the teachers at the end of the day!
  • Gym shoes are to be worn each day.
  • Hot lunch is Monday, Wednesday and Friday
