Looking Back…
*This week was all about celebrating Catholic School’s Week. We enjoyed fun activities as well as doing acts of service. We created cards for the elderly and collected soup for the food pantry. Our discussion was all about how we can help each other. Lots of fun was also part of our celebration this week. Thank you to Mr. Porod and Mrs. Schaefer for our yummy cookies and milk that we enjoyed on Student Appreciation Day. Buddies, Books and Board Games was enjoyed on Friday. It is always awesome to be with our Buddies!
*Letter review was our focus this week. We reviewed the letters Kk, Ll, Mm, Nn and Oo. Our morning meetings were all about beginning sounds. There was a lot of singing this week as we sang ALL of our Jolly Phonics songs from A-Z! Peeking ahead is always fun…so we had a sneak peek at next week’s letter, Pp.
*Count, count, count! It’s what we do. This week we sorted and counted polar bears and walruses onto icebergs, counted and compared the number of boys and girls at our tables and made it all the way to 50 during our calendar time. Each day we practice writing our numerals with a great new song. It is posted below for you to practice at home.
*This week we found out that the groundhog saw his shadow. OH NO, six more weeks of winter. Making our own groundhogs was fun. Finding shadows with them was even more fun. We are hoping that six more weeks of winter won’t stop us from seeing OUR shadows at recess for the next six weeks 🙁
*Our PBIS winner of the week was our friend, Teddy. Congratulations to Teddy for being a responsible and respectful Cardinal.

Tuesday, February 14, is our classroom Valentine’s party. All can attend on this day. Please bring valentine cards for 8 students. Sign-up Genius will be available soon if you are interested in donating supplies for our party.
