Looking Back…
*Welcoming Spring was our focus this week! We happily brought our learning back outside and enjoyed the first week of the new season. Being outside with our buddies was the best outdoor day! Lots of letters, names and self-portraits can be found around our school campus. Summer was our first season together and we discussed what it was like to begin the school year. A vote was taken to decide our favorite season. SPRING WON! Weather changes were a very large part of our Science lessons this week. Watercolor kites were fun to make and they are hanging out with our rainbows:) We are excited to see what the rest of Spring will bring for us.
*Up goes the umbrella in Jolly Phonics. This new letter is tricky so we spent extra time singing our “Uu” songs. Our craftivity this week was, of course, an umbrella to match our song. The silly underwear books were a huge hit. They may have to stay in our library for a while longer:) Our daily reading time is one of the best times of the day…especially when we read together!
*We thanked God for water! We added water to our alphabet art, used water for painting and talked about all of the ways that we use water.
*Shape review was part of our math centers this week. We created rainbow squares and learned a song about all the colors of the rainbow. Be sure to ask your child the rules needed to be a square! We are becoming quite the shape experts and are now working on what we call the fancy shapes…hexagons, trapezoids and octagons!
*Congratulations to our PBIS Winner of the Week-Abby! She is always willing to help her friends in class.

Reminders:
If possible, please bring a bag of candy for our classroom Easter Egg Hunt. Our hunt will take place on Wednesday, April 5th. Buckets, grass and eggs will be supplied. As always, thanks for your generosity and support! It would be great if the candy could be sent by Monday, April 3rd, so that I will have time to fill the eggs.
