JK Newsletter December 1st, 2023

It was so nice to talk with you all at Parent Teacher Conferences! I can’t believe Thanksgiving is behind us and now we are preparing for Jesus’ Birthday!

We have been Practicing for our Christmas play which is December 20th at 9:30! Please have your children come in their Christmas ” Best” Dress outfits that day for the performance.

Advent is our main focus throughout the month of December. Daily acts of kindness at home each day is a way of preparing our hearts for Jesus on His Birthday. Your kids will be bringing home a sheet with good deed ideas.  This is as simple as holding a door open or  helping a sibling.   Each day we gather around His manger as a class and the kids tell their kind deed, and add a piece of hay to make the crib  “comfy” for His Birthday.

Literacy:  Jolly Phonics letter this week will be /v/ and /y/.

Math: We will be counting, sorting, graphing and making tally marks in calendars and centers.

Science: Using magnets and  we will be having lots of Christmas hands on fun!

*For those of you putting up Christmas trees and lights this weekend, our NJHS is collecting broken Christmas lights to recycle.

Have a GREAT weekend!
