JK Newsletter January 13, 2023

We hope everyone is staying healthy and optimistic in the new year!

All of your kids have grown so much since Christmas, it was so fun to welcome them back, and see how much they have grown!

We are starting this new year off with signing our Classroom “oath” off with our classroom rules and expectations. We are also starting off with fresh pencil boxes.  The children now have new “thin” crayons and “thin” pencils.. so fun!  This is a big step for them all but with Kindergarten around the corner they will be ready!

Some fun things to ask your child about:

  • We now have a daily “rest mat caller”! Ask your child who the lucky friend is each day and how they get picked?
  • Who are the prayer leaders, line leaders, caboose and flag holders this week?

Religion: Next week, we will continue talking about Saints.  We have all school 8 am mass on ALL Tuesdays!

Literacy: We are reviewing our Jolly Phonics and nailing down the beginning and ending sounds.  We are also working on isolating the middle sounds in our Phonemic Awareness activities.

Math: We are working with writing and identifying numbers, grouping, and tallying!

Science and Social Studies: We are watching the weather, praying for snow, and doing some fun melting experiments!

Have a great LONG weekend, we will see you on Tuesday!
