In science…6th grader students are working on a new science unit, The Structure of Matter. Students are understanding matter, identifying its properties, and explaining the states of matter.  As part of the lesson, the students will conduct labs on measuring mass, measuring volume, and calculating density.

In 7th and 8th grade, students recently completed lesson 1 of  Cells and Organization in Organism, understanding cell structure and functions.  Students will conduct a lab to understand the function of cell membranes.  (Students also completed a lesson on using microscopes; as part of their hands-on lab for the lesson, students made their own slides.)

In religion…students learned about St. Josephine Bakhita.  Students completed Second Step Lesson 3, understanding the importance of compromise.   As we are preparing for Ash Wednesday, we started our lesson on Ash Wednesday / Lent.  As we journey through the Lenten season, students will make daily Journal entries to reflect on their understanding of Jesus’ teachings and ministry.

Reminder…please support your student in ensuring Chromebooks are charged nightly.

God bless,
