6th Grade News 9/10/24

Happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed their day off!  I really enjoyed seeing everyone at Fall Fest! Everyone looked like they were having such a great time!  6th grade had their first Mass last Tuesday and had their Holy Bibles Blessed by the Priest.  They did a really great job!

We will start our I-Ready Diagnostic this week!  6th grade is scheduled to start on Thursday 9/12 at 8:50 and Friday 9/13 at 8:10.

Please make sure students get a good nights rest, have a good breakfast, and are on time.

This week in class:

Math:  We will continue plotting integers and rational numbers on a number line. We will also continue working on LCM and GCF.  We will start to add some simple solutions into the mix.

Literature:  We are continuing on with Wonder!  We will be starting part two this week and continue working on our comprehension through discussions.  Having students read the assigned chapters at night when given for homework are very important. We don’t want anyone to fall behind on the reading!

Social Studies:  We have started to present our country projects to the class!  Once we are all finished presenting, we will start learning about different types of sources and start moving into early civilizations.

ELA:  We are starting out next 7 vocab words for the week, as well as working on suffixes and prefixes.  Students will have a vocab quiz on Friday.
