6th Grade news 9/23/24

Hello 6th grade families!

We have been having a great time in 6th grade!  We had our first PBIS meeting and students are ready to show us how to be respectful, responsible, and compassionate!

We have also finished our I-Ready diagnostic!  Everyone took their time and gave their best on it!  We will start our weekly lessons and students will have to complete 2 lessons each week.  Points will be given for these 2 lessons.  If students do not finish the lessons during their I-Ready time in class, it will be expected to be completed at home.

Math-  We have been working on multiplying and dividing fractions, we will continue practicing these concepts this week.

Literature- We are continuing to read Wonder.  The students are loving all the different point of views that are in this book.  We get to really dive into what each character is thinking.

Social Studies-  We have finished learning about Paleolithic and Neolithic ages.  We finished learning about them with a Paleolithic and Neolithic comparison drawings. The students really went above and beyond with them.  This week we will start diving into Mesopotamia!

ELA-  We are continuing to work through our 100 vocabulary list.  We have a test once a week on about 7 words.  We will have larger test on multiple sets of words so I encourage students to keep their flashcards!
