Happy Friday Families!
Here is what we did in Pre-K 3/4 this week!
Looking back…
- We focused on learning about the alphabet and our names!
- We learned about the letters S and A, as well as numbers 1-5.
- We learned that God made us all special and our names are all unique!
- We began verbally blending and segmenting compound words. (Blending fire – place turns into fire place. Segmenting fireplace turns into fire-place.)
- We read the books, Chicka Chicka Boom Coom and LMNOpeas.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR…
Thursday, September 4th – Sunday, September 7th – Fall Fest at St. Cletus.
Sunday, September 7th – Outdoor mass to honor all first responders
Thursday, September 25th – Grandparents Day Mass at 1:15pm
Friday, September 26th- NO SCHOOL
Sunday, September 28th – All School Family Mass at 10:30 am
REMINDERS…
- Please check your child’s folder daily, especially Wednesdays.
- We will begin to attend mass with buddies starting Tuesday, September 16th.
- Please remember to sign the parent-student handbook sent to your e-mail.
- If you would like to volunteer throughout the year, please get your VIRTUS training completed. All of our volunteers MUST be VIRTUS trained.
Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About…
Below are some suggestions to engage your child in a conversation about what they did at school!
- What sound does s make? What sound does a make? (s says /s/, a says /a/)
- What happened to all the letters on the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Tree? (They all fell off.)
- Can you count to 5 and show me on your fingers? You can also have them count sets of objects for you and tell you how many.
- Create a letter puzzle at home with printed letters. Mix the letters up and practice putting them in order. (If they need support, have their name written out so they can just copy the order.)
Have a great weekend!
