Pre-K 3/4 November 21st Newsletter

Happy Friday Families!
Here is what we did in Pre-K 3/4 this week!

Looking back…

  • We focused on learning about Thanksgiving!
  • We learned about the sound ee/or and letter z, as well as writing numbers 1-5.
  • We learned that God gave us a mouth to taste. We have also continued to practice the sign of the cross!
  • We continued to verbally blend and segment 2 syllable words. (Blending rain-ing turns into raining. Segmenting raining turns into rain-ing.)

MARK YOUR CALENDAR…
Tuesday, November 25th – 11:30 Dismissal (No Aftercare) – Parent Teacher Conferences 12:30-8pm
Wednesday, November 26th – Friday, November 28th – No School (Thanksgiving Break)

REMINDERS…

  • Please check your child’s folder daily, especially Wednesdays.
  • Our Preschool Christmas Program will take place on December 17th at 9:30 am in the Parish Center!
  • Please remember to respond to the 25-26 school year enrollment e-mail, if you have not already done so.

Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About…
Below are some suggestions to engage your child in a conversation about what they did at school!

  • What is inside a cornucopia? (pumpkin, apple, grapes, and corn)
  • What was the secret message on your painting paper? (their names)
  • What sound does ee make? What sound does or make? What sound does z make? (ee says /long e/, or says /or/, and z says /z/)
  • Why did God give us a mouth? (to taste) What kind of things can you taste? (food) Practice the sign of the cross at home.
  • Practice writing numbers 1-5.
  • Continue to practice spelling and tracing/writing your child’s first name.

Have a great weekend!
