Pre-K 3/4 November 6th Newsletter

Happy Thursday Families!
Here is what we did in Pre-K 3/4 this week!

Looking back…

  • We focused on learning about leaves!
  • We learned about the sound ai and letter J, as well as writing numbers 1-4.
  • We learned that God gave us hands to touch. We have also continued to practice the sign of the cross!
  • We continued to verbally blend and segment 2 syllable words. (Blending rain-ing turns into raining. Segmenting raining turns into rain-ing.)

MARK YOUR CALENDAR…
Friday, November 7th – NO SCHOOL – Vendor Fair 5:30-8:00pm (Parish Center)
Monday, November 10th – Mrs. Field’s Cookie Orders Due
Tuesday, November 25th – 11:30 Dismissal (No Aftercare) – Parent Teacher Conferences 12:30-8pm
Wednesday, November 26th – Friday, November 28th – No School (Thanksgiving Break)

REMINDERS…

  • Please check your child’s folder daily, especially Wednesdays.
  • Our Preschool Christmas Program will take place on December 17th at 9:30 am in the Parish Center!

Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About…
Below are some suggestions to engage your child in a conversation about what they did at school!

  • What is happening to the leaves outside? (They are changing colors and they are falling off the trees.)
  • What sound does ai make? What sound does j make? (ai says /long a/ and j says /j/)
  • What do we use our hands for? (touching) When we touch things how might they feel? (soft, hard, squishy, slimy, rough, etc) Practice the sign of the cross at home.
  • Practice writing numbers 1-3.
  • Continue to practice spelling and tracing/writing your child’s first name. As well as numbers 1-4.

Have a great weekend!
